- Why is my water cloudy?
If your water is cloudy, don’t worry. It’s usually caused by air that enters into the water lines. This can happen when our technicians are repairing leaks or performing maintenance on hydrants in your area. Try filling a glass with water and in a few minutes the air should eventually dissipate and the water should become clear. When air enters the water lines you may also experience spurting from the faucet which is caused by larger pockets of air. Cloudy water can also be the result of a harmless condition resulting from changing water temperatures. As cold water warms in indoor plumbing, dissolved air is released - similar to opening a bottle of seltzer, filling a glass and in a few minutes the air will dissipate from the glass. - Why is there blue paint on my curb, sidewalk, or lawn?
We utilize blue paint and flags to identify underground features such as water mains, if there is digging work being done in the area. It may be us doing the work, or it may be another utility, company or contractor that requested the "markout." The paint is water-based, so it is not permanent, and will not harm your grass or plants.
