Veolia Supports STEM Education with Donation to Watershed Institute
VNA’s Municipal Water team in New Jersey recently donated $25,000 to the Watershed Institute to support STEM education for elementary school students in the Lambertville, New Jersey service area.
“We are thrilled to continue our partnership, support, and advocacy of the Watershed Institute,” said Jim Mastrokalos, VNA Senior Director Operations. “This donation reflects Veolia’s unwavering desire and commitment to deliver STEM education, along with an understanding of watersheds, and an appreciation for the importance of clean water to the elementary grades at the Lambertville Public School District.”
The donation will be exclusively used to support field trips for students in grades 1-6 in the Lambertville Public School system. The environmental activities, aligned with Next Generation Science Standards and traditional nature programs, will take place at the Watershed Institute’s 950-acre Watershed Reserve and in the LEED Platinum-certified Watershed Conservatory in Pennington, New Jersey.
The gift was presented at a small ceremony to Jim Waltman, Executive Director of the Watershed Institute on July 22, 2024. This marks the second year Veolia has contributed financial support to the Watershed Institute.
