Newberry Update (7/3/24): Boil Water Advisory Still in Effect

We appreciate our customer’s patience, as we work closely with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection to correct this issue. Work continues with the refilling and sterilizing of the Grandview Storage tank. Increased activity, including off hours activity, should be expected as work progresses. Following the issuance of the Boil Water Advisory, Veolia has been increasing the disinfectant level within the affected distribution system. You should anticipate an increased chlorine odor to be present as we continue moving toward system restoration. While a completion time is still unknown, our employees continue to follow PADEP directives / guidelines and industry best practices as we work to ensure access to clean, safe drinking water for our customers. Additional updates will follow as more work is completed. Please continue to follow all previous Boil Water Advisory instructions. Do not drink the water without first boiling it. Bring a pot of water to a boil, then let it boil for one minute, and let it cool before using. Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes, and food preparation until further notice.
