Bayonne - Hydrant Flushing - 2024
Bayonne - Hydrant Flushing - 2024
Every year, Veolia tests the water mains and fire hydrants throughout our distribution system to clear buildup of naturally occurring sediment and ensure proper water flow.
Beginning June 3, 2024, Veolia crews will begin regularly testing water mains and fire hydrants throughout the City of Bayonne’s service area–starting at the north end of town (Country Village & 63rd St) and working our way south. The project is expected to last for approximately three months, targeting different blocks each day.
While crews are working on the flushing project, you may experience a temporary drop in water pressure or have discolored water due to naturally occurring sediment in the line. If you should experience any discoloration, we recommend that you open all faucets and run the water until it clears before drinking, washing clothes or using dishwashers.
Our crews will be working throughout the day, between the hours of 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. There will be no noise during the flushing process.
We realize that you may be inconvenienced while the work is conducted. We kindly ask for your patience and support as our crews work to complete this project as quickly and safely as possible.
For your convenience, we will share a map each month highlighting the areas where we intend to conduct flushing. If you have any questions regarding the project, please contact Veolia Bayonne at 888-434-0518.
Thank you.
